Group classes are as much fun as they are informative, besides being a very affordable way to continue your voice training. They can be in addition to private lessons or an alternative. There is something for everyone, beginner to advanced, all musical styles. All of my classes focus on technique, style and application to your songs, and camaraderie. VIBRATO – Uncover & Beautify It !
Vibrato adds beauty and excitement to your tone. It is a result of balance and freedom in the voice. This workshop and masterclass is for those who struggle with uncovering their natural vibrato or whose vibrato tends to be irregular (too fast, too slow, too wide, too narrow, starts and stops, etc.). Beginners to advanced level singers are welcome.
We will discuss what healthy vibrato is and do some group exercises (including non-singing exercises). I will also take up to 5 performers who need help with their vibrato in a song. Our classes are always a fun and safe place to learn about your voice and discover some new things. We always have a friendly and supportive group. No need to be nervous or shy!
I am allotting 2 1/2 hours. If you cannot attend live, the class will be video recorded and available to view for 3 weeks for all who register. I try to make all of these programs very affordable so that more people can join. The cost to perform will be $50 and I can only take 5 singers. The cost for other participants will be $40. Everyone must be a member of VVVEP. At the end of the class, we will have question & answer time. I may also ask for volunteers for “laser coaching” if we have time.
Details: Each performer (beginner to advanced) will have up to 2 minutes to sing a challenging part of a song with or without accompaniment, keeping the focus on vibrato. We will work on the tricky part and I will give you exercises to make it easier. Each performer will get approximately 8 minutes, followed by the entire group participating in the exercises. The only prerequisite for soloists is the ability to sing in tune because this class will not include ear training. I will send all performers a questionnaire to complete ahead of time.
Singers learn from each other and many have similar needs, so whether you perform solo or not, you always learn a lot in my classes! Maximize your training and use of VVVEP!
**To get the most out of the class, I will assign “homework” to complete in advance (just watching a few of my videos on vibrato).
